We hope you enjoyed the previous article in this new series and are ready to be inspired by other fashion houses! Today, we’re focusing on the Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe, renowned for its understated yet eccentric approach to fashion.

While Miu Miu’s style playfully combines vintage and contemporary elements, Loewe’s aesthetic is about subtly showcasing your personality—through clothes that appear minimalistic on the surface but possess an underlying quirkiness. Think of it as silent weirdness, where something seems just a little off in the best possible way.

Tops and dresses

Loewe’s tops and dresses often seem like familiar classics at first glance, but there’s always something unusual about them. Whether it’s a simple button-up shirt or a clean-lined dress, Loewe adds unexpected elements that disrupt the norm. For example, their recent collections have featured shirts and dresses with belt-like details that cinch the waist in unconventional ways, creating an asymmetrical shape. There are also tops where one sleeve is larger than the other, or dresses that feature uneven hemlines. These pieces feel slightly strange, yet refined. A notable feature is the oversized bow ties Loewe often incorporates. While many have grown tired of the bow trend, Loewe’s take is different—they’re longer, larger, and resemble a shoelace bow, adding a playful yet sophisticated touch.

Loewe’s quirkiness can make it seem hard to replicate using vintage or second-hand pieces, but it’s not impossible. Look for classic shirts, tops, or dresses that have something slightly unusual about them – an unexpected print, an asymmetrical cut, or even an offbeat fabric like leather. While Loewe uses floral or check prints, they also embrace quirky patterns like vegetables, plants, or abstract designs. The key is to find pieces that feel just a little "off", but still minimalistic. If you come across a piece that’s almost right but missing that extra something, don’t hesitate to change or customize it – add an unusual detail or modify the fit

to make it feel more “Loewely". Trust your instincts: if it feels right, it’s likely in line with Loewe’s unique vibe.

Bottoms

Loewe’s approach to bottoms follows the same principle as their tops: classic silhouettes with a twist. Whether it’s pants, skirts, or shorts, there’s usually some subtle quirkiness involved—be it an asymmetrical cut or an ultra-high waist. When searching for second-hand bottoms to recreate Loewe’s style, look for pieces that play with proportions or materials. Asymmetrical, oversized, or high-waisted bottoms, for example, are signature elements in many of their collections. Leather pants or skirts can also help you capture that offbeat, Loewe-inspired aesthetic without needing to find the exact pieces from the brand.

Outwear and knitwear

Loewe frequently uses classic materials like leather and shearling in their outerwear designs. Look for leather or shearling jackets, regular-fit zip-up jackets, and vintage-inspired double-breasted blazers—whether fitted or oversized. Loewe often features natural colors and denim, so keep that in mind as well.

For knitwear, it’s easy to find second-hand pieces that fit Loewe’s quirky minimalism. Think grandpa-style sweaters with a modern twist, or classic V-neck cardigans that feel timeless yet interesting. Cable-knit sweaters, minimalistic wool cardigans, or even more eccentric textures are great finds. While Loewe’s knitwear often focuses on texture and silhouette, it also incorporates distinctive and bold patterns.

Second-hand market is perfect for unearthing these types of treasures. Seek out leather or shearling jackets, zip-up jackets, and blazers with unique proportions or cuts. For knitwear, look for vintage pieces featuring bold or quirky patterns alongside classic styles. Even something as simple as an offbeat color or texture can capture that Loewe feel.

Shoes

Loewe offers a range of classic, timeless shoe designs that are easy to find second-hand. While Loewe's outfits often feature one standout piece with a quirky twist, their shoes tend to be more minimalistic. Look for classic styles like Chelsea boots, ankle boots, combat boots, or biker boots, as Loewe follows these trends closely. If you already own a pair, you might not need to buy additional ones. Loafers, derbies, and even boat shoes are also part of their repertoire. Loewe sometimes adds a unique touch to these classic designs, whether through interesting material choices, print, distinctive heel shapes, or unusual shoe forms. So, whether you find a classic design or one with a minimalistic twist, you’re capturing that Loewe essence.

Accessories

This brand is renowned for its accessories, particularly its bags. Some of the most popular Loewe bags include the Puzzle Bag, Hammock Bag, Flamenco Knot Clutch Bag, Gate Bag, and the summer favorite, the Basket Bag. While these designs are quite contemporary, you might find second-hand bags with similar details or bags that convey the Loewe vibe. For jewelry, Loewe doesn’t emphasize it as much, so simple silver or gold earrings or rings can be sufficient. Pay attention to belts, especially wide statement belts. Although Loewe doesn’t offer a lot of these as standalone pieces, they now incorporate them into their clothing. A single belt can help you recreate the Loewe look, and it could even be a DIY project if you’re feeling creative!
